Welcome Centre for International Scholars

Welcome to the homepage of Heidelberg University’s Welcome Centre!
The Welcome Centre is the central information and service institution for you at Heidelberg University. We provide you with the necessary information, advice and customized support around all topics relevant for preparing your stay in Heidelberg and everyday life here – from your arrival, the search for an apartment and essential visits to authorities up to the finding of an appropriate kindergarten for your children. In this, we cooperate very closely with other service institutions of Heidelberg University as well as with the administration of Heidelberg. Furthermore, we regularly organize events and excursions for visiting researchers and their families.
We would ask you to register online at the Welcome Centre so that we can make our services available to you and include you and your family in our social events!
Our service is directed to scientists and researchers after their PhD (post-docs and further). If you are an international student, please contact the office for international matriculated students. Applicants for a university place address themselves to the admission office for international applicants. Foreign graduate students can contact the Graduate Academy.
