Events and Activities for Visiting Scholars

The University of Heidelberg offers a wide range of events and excursions for its visiting scholars:

The Welcome Centre organizes activities for visiting scholars and their families on a regular basis. Below, there are some examples of what you can find in our programme:

  • day trips to the area around Heidelberg (in English)
  • film nights
  • international breakfasts
  • games and crafts activities for children

In addition to this, visiting scholars can also join the excursions for international students organized by the International Relations Office. These are guided by a German-speaking person.

Moreover, other activities are organized by the den „Partners for International Friendship“ („PFIF" in short). PFIF is a group of volunteers who organize a weekly programme of events especially for visiting scholars. The events, which take place at the guesthouse INF 370 are a very good opportunity to make contacts and find friends. You can find the current programme in the right column of this page under News and Events.

On the website of the University Guesthouse further information on activities especially for children can be found.
